Led by the pitching and hitting of Chris Manzo. Flood Ford advanced to the RI Connie Mack semifinals with a 9-2 win in game three over Coventry.

Manzo, who pitched five innings of three-hit ball with nine strikeouts, went 2/2 with two doubles and two rbi’s.

Anthony Iamarone struck out three and allowed just one hit over the last two innings of play.

Led by the complete game pitching of Owen Caldwell, Slocum Baseball Club moved to the Semi-finals with a 1-0 win over Cranston.

Owen Caldwell pitched complete game and Henry Hersum’s rbi single in the second inning, Slocum was able to edge Cranston by one run to capture their quarter-final series.

In the top of the sixth inning, the Bulldogs had an opportunity to tie the game, however, outfielder’s Geoff Coyne’s throw to catcher Brendan Kearns was on the mark for an out at the plate.

Slocum awaits the winner of the Narragansett/South Kingstown vs. Chariho series.

Led by the stellar pitching of Jayden Voelker, Coventry evened up the series with number one seed, Flood Ford, at 1-1 with a 2-1 victory!

Voelker, who hit a tie-breaking solo home run in the game, struck out 15 batters.

Game Three will be played tomorrow.

After losing game one, Coventry came back to win the series with victories in game two (14-3) and game three (12-5).

Last night, they began their best of three series against Flood Ford.

After Braeden Perry pitched out of jame in the bottom of the sixth inning, Wyatt Daft had a clutch RBI hit to put Slocum up 3-2 in the top of the seventh inning.

Perry, then, struck out three batters in the bottom of the seventh to preserve a 3-2 opening game win over the Cranston Bulldogs.
